Common questions

How do I protect or move my workout history?

Open You → Save backup to Files / iCloud Drive. A backup contains workouts, routines, preferences and photos. Keep it private. On your other device, use You → Restore a backup. Restoring replaces that device’s current LiftLog data. Automatic iCloud syncing is not included.

How do I change kg to lbs?

Open You → Weight units. Your existing history stays intact and displays in the selected unit.

Why is on-device AI unavailable?

Optional Apple on-device AI requires iOS 26 or later, compatible Apple Intelligence hardware, Apple Intelligence enabled and its model downloaded. Availability also depends on supported languages and regions. Logging, routines, charts and factual training comparisons work without it.

Do I need a ChatGPT subscription?

No. LiftLog’s features do not require a ChatGPT account or subscription. You can optionally review and copy a training brief into your own ChatGPT conversation. This does not link accounts or read your ChatGPT history. ChatGPT is a separate service with its own availability, terms and any applicable charges.

How do I connect Apple Health?

In You, enable Export completed workouts and grant workout-write permission. LiftLog writes strength sessions and duration. It does not read other Health data or estimate calories. You can revoke permission in Apple Health.

Why can’t I hear rest reminders?

Allow notifications and sounds for LiftLog in iOS Settings. Background sound and vibration follow your device’s Silent Mode, Focus and haptic settings.

How do I share a workout?

Open a completed workout and choose Share. Select Story (9:16), Portrait (4:5) or Square (1:1). LiftLog fits your sets into one image, with smaller text for longer workouts. You choose the receiving app in the system share sheet.

How do I delete my data?

Delete individual workouts and routines inside LiftLog. To remove all local app data, use iOS Settings → General → iPhone/iPad Storage → LiftLog → Delete App (not Offload App). Separately delete any exported backups, shared images or workouts saved in Apple Health.
